The land in eastern Kansas
Eastern Kansas is grass country, and cedar is moving in on it. Kansas has about 15 million acres of grassland supporting cattle ranching, and the Kansas Reflector reported that across the Great Plains, trees and brush now take over more grassland than row-crop farming does. KCUR named Kansas among the states where cedar is spoiling grassland especially fast.
